We had a very lovely walk. The weather was mostly fine – but at the highest places we had a very STRONG wind against us!!! We had so many beautiful views during our walk – and loved all the impressions of your nature – especially the big trees and the green hills with plenty of sheeps.

Great accommodations – nice to be able to make a cup of coffee or tea when we arrived – and very friendly people at all places.

Mickledore made walking Hadrian’s Wall so much easier and seamless for us from day to day. The hospitality and quality at each bed and breakfast was very high, and the daily baggage transfer for our 3 bags faultless. This made our first longer walking holiday very easy leaving us to concentrate on the scenery. A call to Mickledore settled the number of days we should take and where to have a rest day. 6 days walking with 2 nights at Twice Brewed for the Roman Army Museum and Vindolanda Fort. It was a perfect bonding week with my 2 boys after their GCSE’s and A levels.

My friends and I had a really great holiday. The accommodation was very good, the breakfasts, lunch bags and recommended places to eat were first class. The baggage transportation worked without a hitch.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Speyside Way, with the spur walk to Tomintoul being a highlight, particularly as the weather was warm and sunny. On the coastal walk from Buckie to Tug Net, seals and dolphins were sighted and the coastal scenery was impressive.

No problems encountered with any Mickledore arrangements, and all the natives were very friendly and helpful. We cheated on the last day and caught the steam train from Boat of Garten to Aviemore – a highly recommended way to finish the Speyside Way.
