We had an eight-day walking holiday (seven days walking with a rest day) booked through Mickledore in late September. All our accommodations were places we would happily stay again, and the bag transfer service worked seamlessly. The maps and guidebook provided, as well as the recommendation that we pre-book as many of our meals as possible, were all very helpful in ensuring that we had a great experience. We walked the full trail (Bowness to Newcastle) and thoroughly enjoyed the journey and meeting some lovely people along the way.

Booking through Mickledore was very easy, and their staff were very responsive and helpful as we prepared for our holiday. We are not from the UK, so knowing that our accommodations and bag transfer service had been thoroughly vetted was a great comfort to us, as was having a point of contact in case of any issues during our trip. We also appreciated that if we failed to show up at one of our accommodations, steps would be taken to make sure we were alright. We think that Mickledore was good value for the money, and we are very likely to book another walking holiday with them in the future!

They are an independent company based in England that takes care of all the planning for a multi day walking trip in the UK. They book all your accommodation La along the route and the planning of daily luggage transfer. Customer service is excellent. Both during the planning stage and along the trail they are there to support you.

Holiday rating

I walked Cleveland Way and was once again pretty fortunate in the weather that I had, never really more than sprinkles. Everyone I met was cheery and friendly. All my accommodations were excellent and all my bags arrived by the time that I arrived at my next destination (including the Bank Holiday). The terrain varied and the coastal portion was of course incredibly beautiful. England is a beautiful country!

It was my third trip book with Mickledore and each has been great. There was absolutely no issue came up and I had no communication with them on the walk as there was no need. I am already planning on doing a fourth walk with them next year. I always recommend them when anyone asks what company I use. And they were recommended to me by a colleague from work originally. If anything they are two consciousness as they suppled three Ordinance Maps that covered my route and I use All Trails and didn’t need the maps, though of course they were nice to review at home before I left.
