Great walking trail from north Glasgow to Fort William. Lucky to have had good weather and great accommodation arranged for me with baggage transferred. I added an extra night in Fort William to give me the opportunity to climb Ben Nevis.

Company rating

Mickledore are a great company to use when booking your UK based walking holidays. They have lots of knowledge and experience and are easy to talk to. I managed to get all my accommodation on the route and was very happy with all the places I stayed at. This is the first time I have used them as I have only just developed an interest in long distance trails and will definitely be using them again. They provide you with an excellent pack with detailed information to help with your trip.

Holiday rating

I walked Cleveland Way and was once again pretty fortunate in the weather that I had, never really more than sprinkles. Everyone I met was cheery and friendly. All my accommodations were excellent and all my bags arrived by the time that I arrived at my next destination (including the Bank Holiday). The terrain varied and the coastal portion was of course incredibly beautiful. England is a beautiful country!

It was my third trip book with Mickledore and each has been great. There was absolutely no issue came up and I had no communication with them on the walk as there was no need. I am already planning on doing a fourth walk with them next year. I always recommend them when anyone asks what company I use. And they were recommended to me by a colleague from work originally. If anything they are two consciousness as they suppled three Ordinance Maps that covered my route and I use All Trails and didn’t need the maps, though of course they were nice to review at home before I left.

Holiday rating

Self-guided walking for 8 days on the South West Coast path from Minehead to Westward Ho, about 90 miles. The weather was glorious, sunny but not too hot (which helped) and the coastal scenery was spectacular, undulating for the first few days, then flattening out.

Company rating

Essentially Mickeldore are an agent that organise accommodation and luggage plus an occaional taxi tranafer if you are staying away from the trail. They also supply the necessary route documentation. They are are very efficient in all these aspects and communicate well. Clearly one could organise this all oneself, but in practice this would be a nightmare where accommodation is in short supply and possibly not much cheaper (if at all).
