A really great 8 days walking the Cotswold way. starting at Chipping Campden in the north and ending at Bath. Although some of the stages were quite long, the walk passed through some beautiful villages with lots of great scenery along the way. There were plenty of interesting sites along the way – old churches, neolithic long barrows, iron age hill forts and hill top towers. All really interesting and really satisfying to look back at the end of each day’s walk and think – did I really come all this way?

We recently completed the Isle of Wight Coastal Path walking holiday organized for us by Mickledore Walking Holidays. This was our 5th walking holiday with Mickledore and it was another top notch experience. The booking process was simple, all questions were answered quickly and efficiently. Accommodation was of a high standard. The package of information provided was thorough. In addition to receiving a paper package, we appreciated being able to access all info related to our booking through the app as well.

Holiday rating

Self-guided walking for 8 days on the South West Coast path from Minehead to Westward Ho, about 90 miles. The weather was glorious, sunny but not too hot (which helped) and the coastal scenery was spectacular, undulating for the first few days, then flattening out.

Company rating

Essentially Mickeldore are an agent that organise accommodation and luggage plus an occaional taxi tranafer if you are staying away from the trail. They also supply the necessary route documentation. They are are very efficient in all these aspects and communicate well. Clearly one could organise this all oneself, but in practice this would be a nightmare where accommodation is in short supply and possibly not much cheaper (if at all).

We would recommend walking the Dingle Way. Good way marking, great views and a warm welcome. Easy to get to the start from Kerry airport. We have used Mickledore before and yet again they didn’t disappoint. All the travel information is clear and they are always on hand to help if needed.
