Destination Specialist Permanent/Full-Time £17,000 – £21,000 pa.

Mickledore Travel is a specialist tour operator providing self-guided walking holidays in the UK for the independent traveller. We have a reputation for excellent customer service and high quality holidays. We are enjoying a period of sustained growth and looking to add new products and destinations to our existing range.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual committed to the highest standards of customer service to join our small and busy team based in Keswick. The postholder will take a lead role in developing new routes throughout the UK, and delivering first class holidays to our clients.

Responsibilities will include researching and implementing new holiday packages; dealing with clients’ enquiries and bookings; assembling and despatching comprehensive holiday information packs; resolving client and supplier queries; informing and advising other staff on your specialist routes; and an input into marketing and publicity activities, including website, brochure and newsletter updates.

In return we offer a competitive employee package including a salary of £17,000-£21,000; 30 days paid holiday per year (including bank holidays); and comprehensive support and training. The post is primarily based in our office in Keswick but will also require several weeks fieldwork each year. This is a new post and the right candidate will be able to develop their role over time.

Applicants must have excellent communication and computer skills; an ability to work under pressure; at least 3 years customer service experience; a detailed knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office; accurate data entry skills; and an enthusiasm for walking in the hills and countryside of the UK.
