The West Highland Way is one of the most popular long-distance walking routes in the UK, attracting tens of thousands of visitors every year. We are delighted to have secured some ready made holidays giving you the chance to experience this amazing route this summer. The trail, the first long distance footpath to be established in Scotland, winds its way through some of the most stunning landscapes in Scotland. Rolling hills, tranquil lochs, and rugged mountain ranges combine to make a truly memorable walk. On your journey, you are treated to breathtaking views of famous landmarks such as Loch Lomond, the largest freshwater lake in Britain and Ben Nevis, the country’s highest peak.
The trail is generally well marked and easy to follow, however there are wonderful sections of remote wilderness, Rannoch Moor in particular, as well as some higher mountain terrain, where the reward for your efforts is a real feeling of adventure.
Be sure to take your camera with you and stop a while to capture those special moments; walking along the eastern shore of Loch Lomond, one of the most scenic stretches of the trail, the fabulous ascent of Conic Hill, which offers stunning views of Loch Lomond and the surrounding countryside, the tranquil Rowerdennan Forest, the hauntingly beautiful Rannoch Moor, the climb up the famous Devil’s Staircase, and the final walk through the peaceful and idyllic Glen Nevis.
Put simply, the West Highland Way is a challenging but hugely rewarding holiday offering walkers the opportunity to experience some of the most picturesque countryside in Britain. Whether you are a seasoned walker or new to long-distance paths, this iconic trail is sure to leave you with memories that will last a lifetime.
